A Saturday Reset — Settling Back Into What Matters

It’s a quiet Tuesday here — the kind that invites a pause.

And that feels like the right place to begin.

Over the past weeks, something has become clear — both in my own thinking and in kind notes from many of you. The Gazette has grown into something larger than it was ever meant to be. Rich, full, and lively . . . . yes — but also a bit long for the kind of easy, front-porch reading we set out to create in the first place.

Somewhere along the way, we built a whole newspaper.

What we meant to build . . . . was a place to comfortably sit a spell and relax.

So today marks a small and thoughtful reset.

Beginning this month, The Hearth & Holler Gazette will move to a once-a-month Saturday edition — a shorter, more story-focused visit, looking back over the past weeks and sharing only the best of what’s worth settin’ with.

That change opens the door for something else, too.

Little Red Bear will be stepping forward again — not just in passing, but in full stories of his own. Each month will now include a new installment of The Chronicles of Little Red Bear, bringing us back to the heart of Honey Hill Country, where it all began.

Alongside that, we’ll keep a place for quieter moments — reflections, observations, and the kind of thoughts that belong on a porch more than in a paper.

All of it, taken together, is meant to feel simpler . . . . lighter . . . . and more like something you can return to without feeling behind.

No rush. No catching up.

Just good company, when you’ve got the time for it.

Thank you, as always, for being here — for reading, for sharing, and for allowing this little corner of the world to grow as it has.

We’ll see you again soon — just a little more comfortably.

— Jim  (and Red!)

P.S. from Little Red Bear —
I’ve been settin’ a spell myself, watching things come back into shape . . . . and reckon I will be visiting a bit more often now. Save me a spot on the porch.
